VERO BEACH GRADY BUNCH CRUISES TO THE BAHAMAS
For the past 20 years the Vero Beach Grady Bunch, a group of happy Grady-White owners, cruise in early July to the Islands of the Bahamas. This was a banner year - 18 boats with over 60 participants. One of the highlights was a visit from the top executives from Grady-White Boats who flew over to join us in Boat Harbour. This was a special year since both Vero Marine Center and Grady-White Boats are celebrating their 50 th anniversaries.
Ports of call visited on this trip were Sailfish Marina in West Palm Beach, Spanish Cay to clear customs and immigration, Green Turtle Cay for 4 nights, Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour at Marsh Harbour for 4 nights, Sea Spray on Elbow Cay for 3 nights and 1 night at Old Bahama Bay on West End. Five boats went on to the Exumas and visited Highbourne Cay and Sampson Cay where exploration of this "virgin" territory was truly enjoyed. They also made stops in Chubb Cay in the Berry Islands as well as Port Lucaya on Grand Bahama on the way home. The activities of the trip were wide ranging from bone fishing and tuna fishing to snorkeling and diving to just relaxing on a deserted beach enjoying what boating is all about!
All the Grady-White owners returned to Vero Beach asking, "Why was the trip so short?" Two weeks of fun in the Bahamas with great friends aboard our boats was just not long enough!
