The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB&IRC) will be offering FREE pet identification tags to any resident of Indian River County. According to the Humane Society, all pets should wear visible identification. National statistics indicate that only 2% of lost cats without ID and only 16-30% of dogs without ID are ever found again by their families.

Tags will be distributed this Saturday, September 1 at the Big Lots store located at the intersection of 43 rd Avenue and 20 th Street in Vero Beach from 9 a.m.-12:00 pm. ID tags can be issued without pets being present.
