LogOn the Loggerhead loves fresh vegetables with Italian food, and the Italian Grill provided both.
A member of my Loggerhead bale told me of an Italian restaurant on the west side of Vero Beach that serves garden fresh salads and Italian food as good as grandmother Loggerhead's.
Intrigued, I set my course for the Italian Grill, located in Ryanwood Plaza on the corner of Route 60 and 58th Ave.
Even the decor of the restaurant reminded me of grandmother Loggerhead's home.
The walls of the main dining room were covered with family photos, even an antique side-by-side just like grandmother's next to the entrance of the garden room.
I decided to sit in the main dining room but had to scope out the Garden Room.
A couple of large picture windows let in plenty of sunlight, which lit up the lattice, and plant-covered walls.
The Seafood Alfredo, $9.95, and the Chicken Basilicatta sounded delicious, but I opted for the specialty house stromboli with a salad, $7.95.
My server, a polite college student, brought out my salad and a basket of garlic bread to appease my grumbling stomach.
I had little room for the stromboli when it arrived, but I did manage to eat half of it.
It was nice to enjoy an excellent lunch in a quiet and friendly environment.
