An apple you say! This is true.
New question - What's red, green and delicious and cost $10.
A great St Patrick's Day Dinner! You missed this one. The party was last night. For a $10 contribution you were invited to enjoy all the food you could eat, green cabbage and red corn beef, drinks, and desert, as well. And there were leftovers!
It was another great dinner with David Brooks, (SN) P/C and his wife Marlene (SN) P/C, hosting the event at the Vero Beach Power Squadron, which is right on the Indian River looking out at the water and Barber Bridge. David did the cooking with help from his friends. Marlene took the contributions with help from her friends. The guests enjoyed the festivities.
There were young and old, some members and some not. The event started with light snacks, some beverages and lots of "Hello's", along with some introductions. On the whole it was another success. They (VBPS) have a lot of successes and really know how to throw a meal together. There are lots of people who just volunteer to organize, set up cook and cleanup after these events. Everyone pitches in.
Its hard to keep track of who is doing what and sometimes it becomes difficult for the Admin. Officer, James Ward (P) who announces "Thanks" to those involved. Giving credit where due, is something else this group seems to do well. It's to many names for me to remember but that's why I'm not the Admin. Officer.
(SN)=Senior Navigator, P/C= Past Commander, P=Piloting
