LogOn decided to say Hola! to Ay! Jalisco and sample their brand of Mexican flavor one afternoon.
The restaurant has three Indian River County locations tochoose from: one in Sebastian and two in Vero Beach. I decided to visit the Miracle Mile location at 465 21st Street and the first thing I noticed was how happy the patrons looked. I knew then I was in for a treat.
My waiter quickly brought chips and salsa for me to snack on while I perused the wide assortment of Mexican delights on the menu. Offering everything from Mexican favorites such as taco salad ($5.95); fajita burrito ($6.95); tacos ($2.00 a la carte) and enchiladas ($2.50 a la carte) to the classic enchilada chalupa ($6.95) or chimichanga ($6.50), there was much to decide.
I opted for the chimichanga entre. Taking advantage of their chimichanga lunch special for $4.95, I was served a hefty portion of rice, sour cream and guacamole with my chimichanga. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a chimichanga is a flour tortilla filled with meat (I chose beef instead of chicken) and fried. It is served piping hot.
Other $4.95 lunch specials on the menu include supremo burrito; expresso burrito; enchilada taco, rice and beans; and enchilada tamale, rice and beans. You may also choose two tacos, rice and beans for $4.25; burrito, rice and beans for $4.25; taco salad for $5.00; or chicken or steak fajita salad for $5.75 to name just a few.
If you are interested in authentic Mexican food, check out Ay! Jalisco or call (772) 778-8489 for their Miracle Mile location or (772) 388-2368 for the Sebastian location.
