COA is gearing up for summer at VB Senior Center

The summer is here and although some of our residents return to the north or begin their vacations, the COA Vero Beach Senior Center will continue to offer active classes, special monthly lectures with the Mental Health Association and the IRC Sheriffs Dept., Bingo on Saturday and our monthly Saturday night dances on the last Saturday of each month.

Our fabulous "Keynotes" will be playing every morning except Wednesdays with upbeat and jazzy tunes from Cole Porter to The Beatles. The Keynotes have been playing here in Vero Beach for over 8 years and have quite a following. Come by at 9:00am and enjoy your morning coffee and socializing as you dance the mornings away or listen to your favorite tunes.

The COA Senior Center will continue to offer our popular classes throughout the summer months including Low Impact Aerobics class every Wednesday from 12:15 - 1:15 pm, Line Dancing on Wednesdays from 1:30 -2:30pm and All about Yoga on Fridays from 1:15 - 2:15pm. These classes are geared for all levels of fitness. Please feel free to join us.

Our Monday afternoon of bridge will continue from 12:00 - 3:00pm. Come by and share your bridge knowledge with the group or start your own table. Every Tuesday from 12:00 - 3:00pm you are invited to play cards such as canasta and pinochle, or join the scrabble group and see how good you are at forming words. All mahjong players are also welcome to start a new group or fill in for others who have left for the summer. Cake, coffee and tea are served during your afternoon of cards. Everyone is welcome.

The Senior Center Art Group classes continue through the summer as well. The next 10 week class with instructor Dawn Mill begins Thursday June 28th and continues through Septemeber 6th. This class is for seasoned artists and is an open-classroom group. Supplies are not included in the cost of the class.

Don't forget our Saturday Bingo! Come by at 11:30 am and play the early bird. Cash prizes are awarded to the winners. Hot dogs, cake and coffee are available. Get our of the hot sun and come in for a day of fun!

On Wednesday June 6th from 9:00-10:00am Beltone Hearing will be at the senior center offering free assistance with hearing aidsand ear exams. In addition, on Tuesday June 13th from 8:00 - 11:00 am the Florida Eye Institute will offer free eye exams along withglaucoma and cataract testing. No appointsments are necessary.
