Love Sparks at Indian River Estates as Couples Renew Wedding Vows
VERO BEACH, FL, July 27, 2007 -- Romance is in the air this summer, especially at Indian River Estates, an ACTS Retirement-Life Community in Vero Beach, where more than half a dozen couples recently renewed their wedding vows.
"We had residents who have been married for more than 55 years who are just as in love and romantic with one another as they were when they first married," giggled Activities Director Patty Petrone. "Flowers, a special dinner, toast and reading of the Scriptures were just a small part of the special ceremony."
"The world needs to hear the positive story about our super senior love birds and how happy they are as companions who have made the commitment to stay together despite difficult times, financial woes or interpersonal issues. There's no doubt about it... every relationship takes work," said ACTS Retirement-Life Communities PR Manager Colleen Wilson, who plans to renew her vows after 20 years of marriage in August.
Indian River Estates residents feel being a good listener, putting one another's desires before your own and having a strong faith and determination to not go to bed mad at one another, are just a few words of wisdom they wish to credit for their marriage success.
Indian River Estates is a fully-accredited, faith-based, not-for-profit community owned and managed by ACTS Retirement-Life Communities. For close to 20 years Indian River Estates has served the greater Vero Beach area as the only accredited continuing care retirement community (CCRC) for people over age 62, offering a combination of resort-style independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care on the same campus.
