VERO BEACH, FL, August 6, 2008 - More than 250 seniors recently participated in a "Freedom to Choose Good Health" Fair held at Indian River Estates, an ACTS Retirement-Life Community, where they were poked and prodded, lectured to and even licked by six fury friends from "Dogs for Life," a company that specializes in pet assistant therapy dogs with 911 alert training.

Vero Beach Chiropractic did bone density scans, Genesis Rehab Services conducted balance screenings, blood oximetry/pressure screenings were available, and attendees were treated to mini-facials, massages, tons of free samples by the 35 featured vendors. The event was coordinated by Wendy Bushong, Mary Spence and Becky King of Indian River Estates.

Attendees are still talking about the four lectures that were presented by well respected Vero Beach physicians including: "What the New Heart Center Means to Your Quality of Life" by Dr. Cary Stowe (cardiovascular surgeon); "Living with Dementia" by Dr. Keith Eble (psychologist and hypnotherapist); "Three Simple Stretches - Rid Yourself of those Aches and Pains" by Dr. Matt Parris of Vero Beach Chiropractic and "Back Pain" with Dr. Vibhooti Dave from Dr. Benjamin's office. Hosting programs such as these are part of ACTS social accountability and outreach initiative.
