Seniors to receive complimentary health screenings and valuable advice from more than 30 local health and wellness professionals
VERO BEACH, FL (September 2, 2008) - Indian River Mall will host its Senior Health & Wellness Fair sponsored by Ameri-Life and co-sponsored by Ocean 97.1, The Press Journal, Atlantic Healthcare Center and Associated Home Healthcare on Wed., Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free community event will engage more than 30 local businesses to educate seniors on the valuable products and resources designed to cater to their needs, and foster a healthy, active lifestyle.

Local healthcare providers including the Indian River Medical Center, Sebastian River Medical Center, RIS Mobile Diagnostic and East Coast Clinical will be on hand to provide seniors with complimentary blood pressure testing, colorectal screening kits, pulse oximetry, carotid doppler ultrasound screening and more. Plus, Lifelink Medical Center will introduce a state of the art emergency medical repository and delivery system that can deliver personal medical records to every hospital and health care provider in the world within seconds. Government Benefits Analysts will offer a program geared towards Veterans and Veteran's widows that qualify for the Improved Pension Plan from the U.S. Government up to $22,000 per year.
Attendees can also take advantage of CBC, comprehensive metabolic profiles, lipid and PSA treatments for as low as $25. Plus, seniors can receive flu shots for $28, pneumonia shots for $45, tetanus/diphtheria for $30 and tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis for $55. Medicare Part A will be billed for the flu and pneumonia vaccines. HMOs are not accepted.
