Vero Beach Chosen for Top Honor
VERO BEACH, FL, September 8, 2008 - Venustrio Maldonado was recently selected from more than five thousand employees in six states as a 2008 ACTS Retirement-Life Communities President's Award winner. A dedicated landscaper at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach, Maldonado receives one week's additional paid vacation, a travel voucher for $2,750 and an engraved crystal President's Bowl signifying the honor. In addition, his picture will be prominently displayed at the retirement community throughout the current year.
The ACTS President's Award recognizes excellence in service to residents, concern and support for fellow employees, attitude and work performance. Marvin Mashner, ACTS President and CEO, made the announcement and offered his personal congratulations to Maldonado on this well deserved award.
"The ACTS philosophy of loving-kindness is expressed by Venustrio's dedication, hard work and compassionate personality toward his fellow co-workers and residents," Mashner said to a crowd of co-workers and residents at Indian River Estates who gathered for a surprise ceremony held in Maldonado's honor.
Residents and staff insist Maldonado is a great team player and is not afraid to work hard. "His work never requires inspection or follow up because he is dedicated to doing the best job possible," said his supervisor Roberto Cortes.
"Venustrio's understanding of plants and his industrious nature is one of the reasons this campus is so beautiful. His energy seems boundless, and his work is exceptional," said resident Valeria Coe.
