Old Dixie Hwy, Forgotten by city, county & state
Contributed by: J G on 6/27/2006

Old Dixie Highway in Vero Beach, at times, is undriveable. It's ridiculous! I avoid taking Old Dixie at all costs. It's breaking apart, sand debris at times comes a foot into the road, there are pot holes and bumps on every block and GOD FORBID if it rains, everything is flooded. It's ridiculous to me that there has been NO work done to this road in as long as i can remember. US-1 gets more than it's share of totally unneeded road work, why is Old Dixie ignored?

Did you know that we are about to spend $11 million to widen the intersection of RT 60 and 58th ave because people wait too long at the red light at peak driving hours?!

Something needs to be done to Old Dixie and soon.
