In other parts of the country late October means falling leaves and a bite in the air. But here on the Treasure Coast late October means wonderful sunshine and LOTS of bites - at Mangia at the Blake! A Food Extravaganza.
This year, its fabulous fourth, Mangia! Goes Greek on October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., rain or shine. As always, the festivities will be held at the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road in Stuart. And here's the best part - it's FREE!
Internationally known cookbook authors will do demonstrations and sign their latest tomes, which will be for sale. The European-style marketplace will be filled with some of our regions' finest vendors - Big Pine Nursery, LaBella Cucina, Mr. Bread and the Little Bake Shop, among them. Browse, have a bite and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Local not-for-profits like Hibiscus House and Treasure Coast Hospices will be on hand, passing out goodies and selling their popular cookbooks. Bouzouki music will liven up the proceedings and belly dancers will be wandering through the crowd, adding to the ambiance.
An interactive performance by Duck in the Truck will captivate the kids.
Come and enjoy the day. See why Mangia! gets more popular every year. It's the event everyone loves. Don't forget to wave your free Opa! handkerchief and get in the spirit of things - I'll be the one handing them out, so come say hi. It's a Foodie's favorite festival. Call (772) 221-1403 or visit
