Illegals and Military Contracts
Contributed by: John Kirgan on 3/8/2007

I loved the headline in the Press Journal on the Americas. It was from wire reports and stated: "Workers panic, flee in raid on factory." In Kerry Kountry, that would be New Bedford, Mass., 350 illegal aliens, taking jobs from Americans, were arrested and face deportation. Throughout the article illegals are referred to as workers. They're felons no matter what you say or how you twist it or how you spin it.
Mostly from Guatamala and El Salvador, not all illegals are from Mexico, some tried to flee the scene but the place was surrounded and none that they know of got away.
At the district court in Boston, factory owner Francesco Insolia, who? Where's he from? and three managers were charged with conspiracy to encourage illegal aliens to live in the USA and conspiring to hire illegal aliens.
Check this out! Luis Torres, where's he from? worked in a music store directly across the street from the factory. He has been charged with providing false ID's to the illegals there. How convenient. Right acrooss the street with a music store as a front.
Insolia and his managers face a max sentence of 6 months in prison and fines of $3,000.00 for each illegal alien they hired. Torres faces max sentence of 15 years and $250,000.00 fine. That's it? Managers get off easy.
Know what gets me? All 350 will be held at a former Fort Devens military base. Former? Must be one of the bases that "Slick Willy" Clinton closed down. They will await court hearings. What? They should be deported right away. Nowhere in the Constitution of the US does it say illegal aliens have their day in court. They are not citizens. Now I understand the court has to determine if their ID's are illegal, so I guess that's the only reason.
A supervisor who has worked at the factory for 14 years told of illegals crying. She enforced such rules as denied overtime for double shifts, docked 15 minutes for every one minute late, and fines for talking on the job and spending more than 2 minutes in the squalid bathrooms. Bad conditions, I know, but the illegals shouldn't be there in the first place. Legal workers faced the same conditions, or didn't any of you think of that? The entire factory was in poor condition according to reports that I read. And she was concerned they were crying? Odious, to say the least.
Here's the frenetic thing about this. This factory was using illegals to produce safety vests and backpacks for the US military. What did he say? Yep! The US military. Michael Bianco, Inc. had a military contrtact. Big big money involved. My questions? 1)How did Insolia, who owns the factory and Bianco, Inc.get this contract and who benefited from it? 2) Didn't anyone scrutinize the conditions of the factory or it's employers or it's employees before handing out this contract? And if not, why?3) Will this delusive owner and factory retain the military contract?
I would think not. Right?
Kerry, what's going on in your neck of the woods? Obviously you didn't know anything about this. Or did you? You are ex-military. Did you have a hand in procuring this factory the military contract? Did you benefit from it? HMMM!! Anything is possible, right?
