'Canes Apologize
Contributed by: John Kirgan on 10/18/2006

Two Hurricane players apologized for their actions. Apparently the melee didn't start becuse someone bowed in the end zone after a touchdown as someone reported. The placeholder was being attacked by the FIU players and teams entered into the brawl. It takes two to tango. Both teams were at fault but lets move on.
Sophmore Anthony Reddick and senior captain Brandon Meriweather issued apologies, on their own, and is suspended for one game, while Reddick's is indefinately. Not strong enough? That's a matter of opinion. The brawl started with 9 minutes left in the third quarter as two FIU players, Chris Smith and Marshal McDuffie, Jr. attacked Miami holder Matt Perrelli. Smith and McDuffie were kicked off the team but retain their scholarships.
Let's get by this thing and go on about our business. Over. Case closed. But here it is still on the news. Fox has it's "experts" on right now. Enough is enough.
Opinions vary. These people on Fox probably never even played sports and are now calling it a scandal. Stop it at the pro levels and you stop it all the way down to Pee Wee football. The first "dancer" I ever saw was Billy "white shoes" Johnson, doing the "limber-leg". Thanks alot Billy. See where it led to?
Whatever happened to hand the ball to the ref? Act like a man instead of a "hip-hop" wannabe. Stop it at the pro level and it ends at the little league level. I rest my case.
