The Vero Beach High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading squads brought home the
"Camp Championship" titles this week. Both squads attended the Universal Cheerleading Association camp in Orlando at UCF.
The teams attended the summer UCA cheerleading camp to learn updated material in safety levels and techniques for stunts and pyramids as well as new cheers and sideline dances for game night performances.
Varsity won the
Leadership award which is the highest level of accomplishment you can receive at camp. This award is voted on by all the other attending teams for their leadership, talent, and sportsmanship. Varsity also won the
Camp Championship award in the cheer division and 2nd place in the home Dance Routine.
Junior Varsity also won the
Camp Championship award in their division for the dance catagory as well as 3rd place in the cheer catagory.
Along with the outstanding achievements from both Vero teams, four girls were selected for the
UCA All Stars from the Varsity squad, and two were selected from the Junior Varsity squad. The Varsity cheerleaders who were selected are
BrittanyJackson, EmilyJohnson, Lindsey Cousineau, and Mia Vanatta. The Junior Varsity girls who were selected are
Angela Simmers and
Shannon Howder.
Emily Johnson and
Brittany Jackson were also invited to tryout for the UCA staff that will take place after they graduate next year from high school.
