VB DEVIL RAYS TO HOLD WILDFIRE RELIEF DRIVE

Team Will Collect Supplies for Victims of the Devastating Wildfires

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Responding to the needs of their fellow East Coast Floridians, the Vero Beach Devil Rays, in partnership with the Florida State League, are organizing a "Wildfire Relief Drive" during its upcoming homestand at Holman Stadium on Thursday, May 22 through Sunday, May 25. The team invites all Vero Beach and Indian River County residents to aid affected families and participate by donating essential items.

The Vero Beach Devil Rays will collect personal care items such as clothing, bedding, toothbrushes, children's toys or games, gift cards; baby items, such as diapers; and other much-needed items to support those affected by the devastating fires. In addition, checks made payable to the American Red Cross will be collected for those who wish to contribute funds to help in the relief efforts.

"It's so devastating to watch the television and see the desperate need the wildfires have caused to members of our community," said Katie Siegfried, Co-General Manager of the Vero Beach Devil Rays. "One of our own Florida State League staff members lost his home in the fires, so this really hit home for the tight-knit family that makes up the Florida State League, and we knew we had to do something to contribute to the relief efforts for the wildfire victims."

The Devil Rays front office staff will deliver donations to American Red Cross collection sites to be distributed to the affected communities. Anyone who brings an item to donate during a Vero Beach Devil Rays baseball games will receive a half-price admission to the game. Those who wish to donate, but are unable to attend a game, may do so during the Devil Rays regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Game times for the Devil Rays Wildfire Relief Drive homestand are as follows: Thursday, May 22, 7 p.m.; Friday, May 23, 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 24, 6 p.m.; and Sunday, May 25, 1 p.m. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated!

Community outreach is a priority for the Vero Beach Devil Rays, and the organization appreciates all efforts to partner with it to make the Vero Beach community a better place to live and work. The Vero Beach Devil Rays are a minor league baseball club owned and operated by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays. The team is a member of the Florida State League (Advance Class A) and plays at historic Holman Stadium in Vero Beach, FL.
