VERO BEACH DEVIL RAYS WEEK AT A GLANCE, AUGUST 5-9!

Anti-Doping Night, Figurine Giveaway, Olympic Tribute, Mulligan's Night and Wingfest Coming Up!

VERO BEACH, Fla. - After kicking off their home stand with Anti-Doping night on Tuesday, August 5, the Vero Beach Devil Rays will continue the fun in Holman Stadium with a figurine giveaway Wednesday, August 6; Olympic Night and Thirsty Thursday on Thursday, August 7; Mulligan's Beach House Grill and Bar free ticket night and Family Friday on Friday, August 8; and Wingfest before the team's Saturday, August 9 game with a fireworks extravaganza to immediately follow!

On Wednesday, August 6 the Vero Beach Devil Rays will have a figurine giveaway for the first 200 fans into the ballpark. Fans will receive either a figurine of either Akinori Iwamura, Rocco Baldelli, Delmon Young (in a Rays uniform), or Ben Oglivie.

The Devil Rays will hold Olympic Night at Holman Stadium on Thursday, August 7 as the team takes on the Brevard County Manatees at 7 p.m. The Devil Rays will salute the Beijing Summer Olympic Games with a variety of activities, games and prizes throughout the evening. Olympic Night is also a Thirsty Thursday in Holman Stadium, as fans can enjoy $1 small beers all night long!

Olympic Night will kick off with a torch-bearing relay and Opening Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, and will feature 10 Olympic events throughout the night between innings, including: a distance race, 200 meter race, archery, boxing, soccer and cycling, to name a few. A Closing Ceremony to end Olympic Night will also take place immediately following the Rays' game, as well. Each event winner on Olympic Night at Holman will receive a gold medal, as well! Come out to the ballpark and support your local Olympians on Thursday, August 7!

Thursday, August 7 is Mulligan's night at the ballpark, and fans can pick up free tickets for the game against the Brevard County Manatees by visiting Mulligan's Beach House Grill and Bar before August 7. Thursday is also a Thirsty Thursday, and fans can enjoy $1 beers all evening long!

On Saturday, August 9 th at 4:00 p.m. the Devil Rays will host their second annual wing competition, which will feature live music and wings from several area businesses. Wingfest will be held in Holman Stadium prior to the Rays game against the St. Lucie Mets at 6:00 p.m. A fireworks extravaganza will immediately follow the game as well. The wings available at Wingfest will be sampled and judged by the fans in attendance in the following three categories: Best Overall, Spiciest, and Best Non-Traditional. Ballots will be passed out to fans for voting and the winning restaurants will be announced on field in the 8 th inning during the Rays game against the Mets. Besides the new additions of the Clubhouse Bar and Grill and Chili's Grill and Bar, other participating restaurants include: Hurricane Grill and Wings, Beef O' Brady's, Riverside Café, Mulligan's Beach House Bar and Grill, and Four Winds Restaurant.

Community outreach is a priority for the Vero Beach Devil Rays, and the organization appreciates all efforts to partner with it to make the Vero Beach community a better place to live and work.
