VB DEVIL RAYS TO HOLD FAN APPRECIATION WEEKEND!

August 29-31 Will Feature Dollar Night, Giveaways, Raffles, Free Tickets and Much More!

VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Vero Beach Devil Rays would like to thank their fans for a successful and fun 2008 season by holding Fan Appreciation Weekend Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31, as the Rays take on the Palm Beach Cardinals in their final three-game series of the year. The weekend will feature giveaways throughout each of the three days, a Dollar Night on Saturday, August 30, as well as contests, raffles, free tickets and much more!

Friday, August 29 the team will kick off Fan Appreciation Weekend with a double-header against the Palm Beach Cardinals, slated to begin at 5 p.m. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a free baseball, compliments of the Florida Department of Transportation. Between games there will be a hot dog eating contest, and fans interested in participating should contact Matt at 772-569-4929 to sign up.

The fun will continue on Saturday, August 30, on Dollar Night with $1 beers, $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas throughout the evening. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a Vero Beach Devil Rays baseball card team set, compliments of MBV Engineering, Inc. The team will hold a pre-game autograph session prior to the 5 p.m. game, and invite all fans to have their baseball or other items signed.

Fans in attendance at either Friday or Saturday night's game will receive a voucher for a free ticket to Sunday's game (August 31), which will mark the last game in Dodgertown. The only way to receive a voucher for a free ticket to Sunday's game is to attend either of the two games prior on August 29 or August 30.

The Devil Rays will also be giving away various items throughout the weekend, such as team pin sets, wiffle ball sets, lunch boxes, folders, and anything else they can find in the storage room. There will be raffles of team autographed items throughout the weekend, as well. The Vero Beach Devil Rays thank all of their fans for their loyalty and patronage throughout the season, and hope they will return to Holman Stadium for one last weekend of baseball fun in 2008!

Community outreach is a priority for the Vero Beach Devil Rays, and the organization appreciates all efforts to partner with it to make the Vero Beach community a better place to live and work. The Vero Beach Devil Rays are a minor league baseball club operated by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays.
