The Florida Karate Academy of Vero Beach traveled with four competitors to Detroit, Michigan this last weekend, July 26 th - July 27th to participate in the AAU Junior Olympics at the Rock Financial Showplace Arena. Our competitor's came home with 4 medals and another great event under their belts.

This was the first time all of these competitors had made the trip to the AAU Junior Olympics and they took full advantage of their opportunity. The top medal went to Marcello Duong 9, who won a Gold medal in fighting, his sister Nicolette Duong 12, came in 4th in her fighting division. Chris Docherty 10, brought home a Bronze medal in both fighting and forms, and his brother Kyle Docherty 10, won the Bronze medal in fighting.
