Vero Boys Soccer team wins Labor Day tournament

The Indian River Soccer Association U17 Boys soccer team won the Seminole Labor Day Tournament, defeating a tough FL Soccer Club team from Tampa in the championship game 1-0. The tournament was held at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Lake Mary FL over Labor Day weekend.
The team beat FL Rush Swoosh 2-0 on Saturday. On Sunday Vero lost to one of the state's top teams - FL Soccer Club 3-2, in a game that featured four yellow cards gainst the Tampa team, on a disputed goal scoring kickoff to end the game, after battling back from a 2-0 deficit late in the second half and then defeated Port St John 3-1 later that day to qualify for the semifinals.
Monday they snuck past highly rated FL Soccer Alliance 1-0 in overtime despite losing 2 players to injury before the game and one to a broken leg suffered during the match but hung on to win. That game set up the rematch 90 minutes later against FSC, which Vero won on a goal by Forrest Fegert.
Coach Vito Urso credited the team's superb conditioning as a determining factor in the win. The team includes Adri Bordoli, Danny Bova, Hugo Chavez, Forrest Fegert, Sam Hudson, Kyle Kuvlesky, Mark Lawrence, Daniel Mojica, Kevin O'Dell, Danny Ordonez, Brandon Paige, Randy Tilton, Roberto Trujillo, Tom Urso, Jordon Walther, Tyler Williams, Stuart Wright and Guadalupe Zamarripa.
