The Florida Karate Academy of Vero Beach, Florida is very proud to announce that Dylan Flinchum, 16 has won a place on the United States WKF Karate Team and will be representing the United States at the 2009 World Karate Championships that will be held in Rabat, Morocco November 12 th -15 th.
Dylan won first place in the Team Trial fighting division at the USA/NKF Karate Championship and Team Trials during the week of July 17 th - July 20 th in
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida qualifying him for the United States WKF team that will be competing internationally this year.
Dylan had 4 fighting matches to win the Team Trials in a division of 16 young men. Dylan said, "The fighting was tough with the matches being very close, but I felt I fought well and my techniques were good." Only the first place finishers in each of the Team Trial Divisions are chosen for the USA/WKF Jr. National Team that will compete at the 2009 WKF Jr. World Karate Championships in Morocco.
Dylan Flinchum, 16 is a second degree black belt and has been studying karate for 12 years at the Florida Karate Academy. Dylan and his mother Abby Flinchum, who is also a second degree black belt, will be leaving soon to fly to Rabat, Morocco for the 2009 WKF Jr. World Karate Championship. The best competitors from all over the globe will gather to compete in this international tournament.
