When students from Fellsmere Elementary School visited on June 27 th, The Vero Beach Museum of Art's education department, in collaboration with Indian River Charter High School's drama department, offered them a field trip filled with the best of Indian River County's arts and cultural offerings. The museum's docent team took students on tours through the museum's galleries and sculpture park while drama teachers Maggie and Jeremy Baker led interactive drama activities in the Leonhardt Auditorium.
Students from the IRCHS Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program assisted as the elementary-age audience members warmed up their voices and bodies before taking turns on the stage becoming living sculptures. Films created by Jeremy Baker documenting the Indian River Charter High School's programs for students of all ages were also shown to the receptive Fellsmere students. The field trip, arranged by Principal Barry Sesack, was a celebration to end a month-long academic summer camp at Fellsmere Elementary School with a celebration of the arts.
