Extreme Teen Make-Over
Contributed by: Bonnie Pfiester on 2/3/2006

It was no big surprise when my sister, Anna Talley, told me she planned to try out for Oslo Middle School's talent show. What most people don’t know, is that just seven months and forty pounds ago, Anna was a much different person.
A much grumpier, insecure and 200 pound Anna originally came to stay with for the summer in hopes of losing weight at Longevity’s summer fitness camp. With the help of a personal trainer and many aerobics classes, Anna started to take control of her weight, and her life, for the very first time. As Anna continued to shed pounds, she began to uncover the girl she’d always wanted to be. The effect of her new-found confidence overflowed in to all parts of her life.
A more confident and much happier Anna proceeded to tie for 1st place in the school talent show playing her guitar and singing a song she had written. If she doesn’t become the next American Idol, I have a feeling she’ll still be in front of a crowd with a microphone even when she’s not singing. With her passion for people, I imagine it’s only a matter of time when she’ll be the one teaching aerobics in her quest to convince others that if she can do it, anyone can.
