Tatouage Mania is covering Treasure Coast homes and businesses with high resolution dry rub transfers that transform ordinary surfaces into a designer showcase with the expensive look of hand-painted murals at a fraction of the cost in
one day
! Kit DeRoche, interior consultant and owner of Tatouage Mania, said, "Tatouage looks so much like the original artwork you can even see the brush strokes!"
Formerly an interior designer for over 20 years, DeRoche uses her expertise to help clients create the perfect mural. Her company does installation as well. "Walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture -- Tatouage can cover any surface and virtually any type of material, including wallpaper and glass," said DeRoche.
Blank walls are the perfect palette for DeRoche. Dena DeThomas, owner of Shear Vanity salon in Stuart, wanted to add a tropical touch to thewalls in the waiting area of her beauty shop. DeRoche suggested a palm tree and bird of paradise on a beach dotted with sandpipers. Now clients can relax as though they are at the beach.
Homes, too, benefit from Tatouage Mania. A doorway that opens onto an empty wall or a narrow wall at the end of a hallway can become a focal point with an urn filled with palm fronds and birds of paradise."Tatouage is versatile and affordable," said DeRoche. "You can create a mural with dynamic impact for less than the cost of a framed print," she added.
Tatouage is simple to apply. The first step is to choose all the elements that will go into a design. The design element is then cut out, placed onto the surface, and rubbed with an applicator stick to burnish it onto the surface. Design elements can be layered. The end result is a three-dimensional mural.
