Contributed by: YourHub.com on 1/16/2009

Have you ever sat in a club meeting and thought: "A reporter should be here to hear this?"

Or maybe you took a photo at your son's soccer game and thought: "Wonder if it could go in the paper?"

Take advantage of YourHub.com's free registration and be a part of the world of community journalism, where you decide what positive news to contribute.

You can even be a cub reporter and post breaking news in your own neighborhood.

After it's posted online, your story might be selected for publication in the printed version of YourHub.com. And don't forget the photos!

Get started with six easy steps.

1. Go to www.yourhub.com.
2. Select your state (right side of the page).
3. Select your community.
4. Click on "Go to Your Hub."
5. Click on the word REGISTER (inside the red ball).
6. Fill out the form and click "Submit."

Now, you're on your home page and ready to begin uploading your stories and/or photos.

1. Click on the top of the page where you see "Get Published."
2. Choose your category.
3. Enter your title and text in the appropriate text boxes. We suggest copying and pasting your story from a Word document.
4. If you have photos, click "Attach Images" on the bottom of the screen.
5. Choose your photos using the Classic or Active X photo uploader.
6. Click "Upload."
7. After uploading your photos, your original page will come up with the text and photos. Click on "Preview" at the bottom of the screen.
8. Now click "Publish" and you've been published at YourHub.com!

When choosing photos to upload, please be sure they are 200 dpi or measure 8 by 6 inches onscreen.

You can insure they meet the requirements by checking your image settings on your digital camera.

Most digital cameras have a menu setting for this. If not, please refer to your owner's manual.

When posting your photos, don't forget to post first and last names of those in the photo and a brief sentence explaining what they are doing in the photo.

Most importantly, have fun posting your citizen journalism stories and photos on YourHub.com!
