Childcare Resources celebrates childcare providers
Contributed by: Rachael Moshman on 4/28/2008

Staff and volunteers of Childcare Resources honored early childhood educators during the week of April 14 th by delivering heaping baskets of snacks for the staff at each of the 8 centers they contract with. Each center also received a one year subscription to "Teaching Young Children" magazine and a $25 gift card to Lakeshore Learning Materials. Childcare Resources also hosted two training opportunities during the week for all area early childhood educators, parents and grandparents; "Building Children's Self Esteem" and "Using Sign Language with Young Children". Both events were well attended. Childcare Resources greatly appreciates the dedication of all the early childhood educators in Indian River County. The availability of childcare benefits everyone in the community, even those without children. Without dependable childcare, parents cannot go to work. This means fewer employees, and fewer customers for local businesses. Childcare Resources, a United Way and Indian River County Children Services partner agency, provides opportunities for the children of working, income eligible families to attend high quality childcare centers so their parents can continue working.
