FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The 2008
Miss Sebastian Sweetheart Pageant
results are in, and registration is already open for the 2009 Pageant. Everyone who has been thinking of joining the pageant has a chance to register earlier than in years past. "This way, the girls can get their gowns at the after prom sales this spring, and begin a lot earlier working on their winning strategies." said Pageant Director, Melann Kahle.
The
Miss Sebastian Sweetheart Pageant
seems to have some special luck to it - or maybe it's the training and backing by
Smart Talent.
Whatever the reason, many of the past contestants have achieved astounding accomplishments since participating in it. The 2006 Junior Miss Sebastian Sweetheart Queen, Emily Slawski, is now the 2008 recipient of the
Hope Award.
The Hope award is the ultimate, nationally recognized award for young, promising talent. The 2007 Junior Queen, Aubrey Erin Johnson, was signed by
Dakota Fanning's Agent, The Osbrink Agency,
and Smart Talent launched her as a new face for Kellogg's in Hollywood, California. Aubrey's
Kellogg's Froot Loop Cereal Straws
commercial is now airing on all major networks. 2007 Contestant, Kimberly Zerega, and Lauren Collins 2007 2nd Runner Up both recently landed a
Disney Typhoon Lagoon
Ad campaign. The 2007 Senior Queen 1st Runner Up, Lauren Williams, is now a working model for the modeling icon,
Elite Model Management,
thanks to
Smart Talent.
She is now appearing in major advertising campaigns such as
Hollister, Pierre Cardin, Fifth Avenue of Naples Magazine,
and is featured in the March 2008 issue of
Seventeen Magazine.
The winners of the 2008 Miss Sebastian Sweetheart Pageant for the senior division (ages 13-17) are: Queen, Ali Fowler; 1st Runner Up, Savannah Brooke Gross; 2nd Runner Up, Victoria Justine Knotts; 3rd Runner Up, Christina Joelle Brecher; 4th Runner Up, Michelle Jackowski.
For the Junior Division (ages 8-12), the winners are: Queen, Alexandra Storfer; 1st Runner Up, Cameron Stewart; 2nd Runner Up, Emily Satawa; 3rd Runner Up, Bridget DeBono; 4th Runner Up, Autumnbrooke Cenkner.
Each year, the Queens receive $1,000 cash from
Smart Talent,
roses from
Sherri's Floral Shoppe Inc
, tiaras from
John Michael Matthew's Fine Jewelry,
and a gift bag of prizes from
other local businesses
and a full year scholarship to
Smart Talent.
Runners Up receive nice prizes, too. Everyone goes home with a participation ribbon. The audience is very supportive to all the girls, and all the girls are made to feel very special at this event. Students at
Smart Talent, (The Scene Makers)
provide talent for a wonderful show. The pageant is a fundraiser for the
Brain Injury Association of Florida.
After the pageant,
Smart Talent
holds a
Queen's Ball
with dinner and dancing for the contestants, their families, and friends.
"Every year, I choose new judges that are leaders in our community, to keep the pageant fresh and fair. This year, our judges surprised us at the event with extra prizes for the contestants, and we are very thankful for their generosity", said Mrs. Kahle. Pageant judge, Dale Driver, a dance teacher at the
Royal Ballroom Dance Studio,
came with certificates for free dance lessons for the contestants, winners, and each Queen's parents. Wendy Walton offered free scholarships for the Queens at
Wendy Walton's Dance Conservatory. Radio Personality, Rhett Palmer
invited the new Queens to appear soon on his radio show and to send them and their parents to dinner at a local restaurant. Rhett also took a shine to contestant, Allison Fahey, age 9, and offered to give her a "special smile award" and have her on his show, too. After the pageant, Rhett came up to congratulate Ally and told her that she's got "that special something" and encouraged her to become an actress someday. "Her eyes twinkled when he told her that. She worked on her smile every night in the mirror, and it paid off because she got noticed, and who knows where this may lead. Her father and I are so proud of her," said Mrs.Glenn Fahey.
Smart Talent
training has enabled numerous students to be featured in print ads, commercials, TV shows, and movies. Performance singing, acting for film/TV, and modeling classes are offered for youth and teens, as well as complete talent management services. View the web site at

to register for the pageant or classes. "I have big plans for these kids," beamed Mrs. Kahle.
