Childcare Resources of Indian River celebrated the accomplishments of another great year at its Annual Meeting held on April 12, 2006. Installed as the new President of the organization was Kathy Marshall. Kathy is a veteran educator, an instructor at IRCC, serves on the United Way of Indian River County Board of Directors and chairs the United Way Success By Six Committee. Ms. Marshall stated her goal for the coming year is to encourage more quality care and education for the youngest members of our community. "The need is tremendous and the impact on young lives is significant," said Marshall.
Other officers installed for the coming year were Drew Hartline, President-Elect; Wanda Lincoln, Secretary; and Matt McCain, Treasurer. Tom Yonge will continue serving on the Executive Committee as the Past President.
Nancy Bryson was welcomed to the Board. Retiring Board members were Beth Long and Baerbel O'Haire. Other Board members include Michele Falls, William Holt, Nancy Hopwood, Lisa Kahle, Dr. Tom Morse, Bill Westrom, and Kelli Zeck.
Childcare Resources provides financial assistance for income-eligible families so their children can receive quality early care and preschool. Placement is at one of eight nationally accredited centers in the county. Childcare Resources is the recipient of the 2005 United Way of Indian River County Agency Excellence Award. This award recognizes the impact the organization makes in our community.
