United Way Day of Caring a Great Success
On Saturday September 26
th, 45 CVS Employees turned out and got to work at Gifford Youth Activity Center. The CVS staff helped GYAC pack food boxes for 225 families as their United Way Day of Caring Project. Indian River Health and Human Services Department contributed to the food boxes with additional food sponsorship by Gifford Front Porch, Community Church and CVS. Because of the number of volunteers, GYAC was also able to complete a much needed painting project on their modular classrooms.
Gifford Youth Activity Center wishes to recognize Brad Bernauer of Indian River Health and Human Services Department and Donna Garza and Lisa Taylor of CVS for their corporate and individual contributions. In the past five years more than 500 volunteers from more than 40 companies contributed their time and trade to complete 26 projects at nonprofit agencies throughout Indian River County through United Way Day of Caring events. The Gifford Youth Activity Center is a United Way Agency, located at 4875 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach.
