The New York Mets raised $1,415 for United Way of St. Lucie County during their first week of spring training viewings. Proceeds from memorabilia ticket sales over this 3-day period will go toward the annual campaign total to help people in need in the community.
The New York Mets raised the funds by selling raffle tickets for a variety of New York Mets autographed memorabilia to the attendees who came out for the free spring training practice viewings.
"Our local ball club really goes out of their way to support us in any way that they can", stated Judy Cruz, Vice President of Resource Development at United Way of St. Lucie County. "They are always coming up with unique ways to lend their support and we are truly grateful for all of their efforts".
United Way of St. Lucie County is encouraging people in the community to LIVE UNITED by giving to the annual campaign, helping spread the word about programs and services that help people in need, and volunteering their time and talent to a local cause.
