Since 2004 the Avenue D Boys' Choir has nurtured the souls and minds of our young men to ensure they will be the best sons, brothers, friends, and students today; and the finest husbands, fathers, colleagues, and leaders in the future.

The Avenue D Boys Choir is known for being young men of honor, pursuing excellence and leading by example. On Saturday November 28 th the Avenue D Boys Choir will perform at the Gifford Youth Activity Center. Advance tickets for this partnership concert are available at the Gifford Youth Activity Center for $15.00 and will be $20.00 at the door the day of the event. GYAC is pleased to host the Avenue D Boy's Choir that uses music to reach at-risk youths who are determined to overcome negative influences of environment. They have captured hearts in their hometown of Fort Pierce and reached out to the Treasure Coast and beyond. The Choir is purposely named after the neighborhood to show support for the families, friends and neighbors who live there, and who are also striving to move beyond the negative influences.

Using music as the "hook", the Avenue D Boys' Choir was founded by Dr. Earl Hendricks with musical direction of Mrs. Mary Hendricks. Every rehearsal session is meaningful and includes time for mentoring, homework, positive dialogue, and lots of practice.

Since inception, more than 200 boys have participated in The Choir and all whohave remained with the Choir have graduated from high school and seven are now attending college. In addition to singing many locally this year, they have performed at the Florida State Capital, in Washington D. C and Detroit. The Avenue D Boys' Choir members sing from their hearts and they are a blessing to all who hear them. Be sure to get your tickets early and bring a friend to this memorable performance.
