Kathy Basile Receives ELCSLC's Chair's Award

Kathy Basile, Executive Director for the Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County, received the 2007 Annual Chair's Award from the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County (ELCSLC). Anthony F. Loupe, Chairman of the Board for the ELCSLC, presented the award to Ms. Basile at the April Coalition Board meeting.

Each year the Coalition's Chairperson honors a board member who is instrumental in ensuring the Coalition's mission is upheld within our community.

"Kathy Basile has committed her life to the children of St. Lucie County. Throughout her career she has been a teacher for the school district, an owner of a child care center, currently the Executive Director of St. Lucie County's Children's Services Council, past Chairman for the Early Learning Coalition and a board member since its inception in 1999, past Chair of the State of Florida's Children's Services Council and represented the county on several committees and boards on both the local and state level. Kathy is a true champion for children's causes," Mr. Loupe said.

"I am truly honored to have received the Chair's Award," Ms. Basile said. "I share this with all of my colleagues on the Early Learning Coalition who, with the wonderful staff, endeavor to truly impact the quality of child care and early childhood education in St. Lucie County and the State of Florida. A child's early years are so very important and assuring that young children are nurtured in positive learning environments is critical for their future success. The Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County is striving to achieve this."
